Sam Clark

Sam Clark is Director of Business Development at Ascension, where he primarily focuses on originating sale leaseback and build-to-suit transactions for private equity sponsors and business owners across North America. Sam leverages his experience as a principal investor to help clients determine the optimal real estate capital structure for their businesses.

Earlier in his career, Sam worked in the Structured Real Estate group at Truist Securities within the Investment Bank. At Truist, he sourced and executed build-to-suits and sale leaseback transactions for the group’s $2B+ net lease real estate portfolio, as well as advised clients on real estate strategy.

Prior to Truist, Sam held investment roles at several institutional real estate private equity firms, and began his career working with Sears Holdings on its corporate real estate footprint and strategy.

Most recently, Sam was a principal at Box Briar Capital Advisors where he used his expertise in acquisitions, development, capital formation, capital markets, asset management, operations, strategy, and finance to help emerging sponsors build and grow their platforms.

Sam graduated with a BA in Public Policy and Law from Trinity College and holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
